Classic Wooden Boat Festival

Classic Wooden Boat Festival 2018

Darling Harbour Sydney – Friday April 13th – Sunday April 15th

Come see maritime history in action.

As part of the Classic Wooden Boat Festival, Sydney Harbour Tall Ships and the Australian Maritime Museum have joined together to give you the opportunity to see and experience working Timber Tall Ships.

After you have seen the museum’s special Arctic Voices exhibit you may even get a glimpse of the Soren Larsen, which was featured in the BBC Documentary on Shackleton’s fated Antarctic voyage, which was filmed in the Arctic.

Get up-close and personal with the Tall Ship Coral Trekker, which will be on display within the Classic Wooden Boat Festival.  Potentially, see the dying art of sail making in action with our sail maker coming down during the festival.

Keen to get on board? Join a 45 minute Pirate Cruise or Historical Cruise and experience the Southern Swan under sail.  Whether you want to hoist the Sails, steer the ship or just take in the scene from the deck or from up the mast, you will experience the old-world feel of our majestic Tall Ship.

The Festival runs from April 13th to 15th 2018

Pirate Cruise

Want to play Pirate?  If so, our kid friendly cruise is just the thing.  You can enlist your junior sailors in our Pirate themed cruise. They will be given a tour of the ship, draw on and then scrub the decks; and then look for TREASURE.

Historic Cruise

For a glimpse of history, our afternoon cruises give you the chance to join in the ships operations and hear about the history of the ship and Sydney’s great harbour from this unique perspective.
