Andrew is Sydney born and bred and the only thing he enjoys more than learning about Sydney history is sharing his passion and knowledge of the fascinating tales of the history of Sydney Harbour!
Andrew has been a Host with Sydney Tall Ships for over two years and would love you to join him in a relaxing sail down the harbour, enjoying the sights while he shares with you the more interesting (and entertaining) stories about the worlds most beautiful harbour city.
Andrew is a trained actor and performer with an extensive knowledge of Sydney and challenges guests to find a more enjoyable and informative commentary about Sydney Harbour; or a more stunning platform on which to experience it.
Esther spent most of her childhood with a foot in both England and Wales. She eventually followed a dream and joined the Royal Air Force as an Assistant in Air Traffic Control. Six years later and now with two small boys, she left the Air Force and moved to Saudi Arabia. They had a fascinating time out there, she worked as a pre-school teacher and her boys were joined by a daughter. They moved to Australia in 2008 fulfilling a lifelong quest to settle in the Sunburnt Land. They finally put down some roots and happily call Australia home! New Year's Day 2011 was when her journey started with Sydney Harbour Tall Ships. Sailing around Sydney Harbour, combining her love of history and Australia and sharing some great yarns is an absolute dream come true! She never cease to be amazed by the wonder of the harbour and feel so fortunate every day she gets to tread the wooden deck and meet the amazing people who come to experience that adventure with her.read more
A Goat Island guide since early 2012, sharing and preserving the stories of Sydney’s past in such a fantastic setting is Graig’s dream job. He has a background in education, museums, marketing tourism, special events and live music. Best of all, he loves demonstrating the amazing acoustics of the Powder Magazine by singing old convict songs to guests – often moving them to tears.read more
Howard's love of Tallships began on Australia Day 1988.
He witnessed the spectacular arrival on a stunning Sydney day, of the Bicentennial Tallships fleet (including Soren Larsen and Southern Swan).
After a lifetime growing up and working on and around the harbour, Howard has developed an extensive and detailed knowledge of the history and workings of Sydney Harbour.
Howard has spent most of his professional life introducing teachers, students and tour groups to our unique harbour. He goes sailing, fishing and bush walking in his spare time - most often involving the harbour.
Howard has worked for Sydney Harbour National Park (tour guide), North Sydney Council (environmental educator), Sydney Aquarium (teacher) and Sydney Water Board (environment project coordinator).
Howard ran "The Harbour Classroom" on board the tallship Solway Lass, customising tours for groups of all ages and interests.
