“Great day out”
"Just want to thank Dave and his crew for a great experience on the tall ships and the convicts tour it. They were well worth the visit and a day my parents won't forget. From the 4 crazy Irish."
“Great fun day”
"I gave my husband the Champagne Brunch cruise for his birthday and I have to say, I think this was his best birthday ever. We had a fantastic time on the Soren Larsen with Captain Marty and Frankie and the crew. My husband even got to climb the mast to the crows nest. All of the crew were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was great. All in all it was a very relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday and we would definitely recommend this experience to anybody."
"I purchased the 2x dinner cruise and mast climbs to celebrate my husbands birthday. The mast climb was exhilarating and the twilight views on Sydney Harbour spectacular. We were blessed with perfect weather, the staff and crew were friendly and obviously enjoyed being a part of the Tall Ship experience. The photo package of our mast climb was reasonably priced and provided images to share with family and friends. Would definitely recommend doing the mast climb as an add on to the cruise."
“AFTERNOON DISCOVERY CRUISE”
"Today I have experienced such a fantastic experience on the Tall Ship. Very exciting when we climbed the mast, steered the ship, was served scrumptuous nibblies and could drink as much as we wanted all for no more than what our ticket cost - but thankfully to our very giving friend my twin sissy and myself were given these to us for our birthday - we really got a double bonus !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The staff were just so friendly and helpful. It rained a tad and we were then supplied free ponchos to be able to still view the gorgeous Sydney Harbour while we were sailing. We motored out of the Harbour and the sails were lifted to sail back to our Mooring. My twin sissy and I were just so glad we experienced this Tall Ship Cruise on Sydney Harbour even if we did have a tad of rain mixed in. Keep up the great work guys !!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the fun."
“A great trip on the Harbour...for sure”
"Experienced the best afternoon on the Tall Ships the last weekend, with my twin sister. We had a wonderful time and though the weather rainy, it was fabulous and something to experience for sure. The staff so helpful and informative and welcomed everyone to join in the activities and presented everyone with a nice booklet at the end of the cruise as a momento of our cruise. Highly recommend this cruise, only takes 1 1.2 hrs and sometimes this is all the time travellers have, so go for it, a wonderful time for sure. Climbed the mast, given excellent instructions and confidence and the view from us there ....just gorgeous. Thanks so much for a great cruise, and loved every minute of it, with my twin sister to celebrate our 60th Birthday..... Leonie T Blue Mts."
“ONE HANGE OF A GREAT SALE ON THE OLD BOAT”
"realy great trip and not even the little rain half way through could dampen the spirits. If you can hold off on morning tea before the lunch cruise make shore you do because from the time you get on to the time you get off all you do is eat eat eat. Even had to threaten one of the girls would hve to lock her in the gally so she could not bring any more food out. Also dont drink to much fluid asthey make you laugh so much it may make you wet yourself. Neil from Tasmania."
“Peaceful and unique way to see the world's best harbour”
"Genuine reproduction tall ship vessel and a great way to see Sydney Harbour. After slowly motoring out into and down the harbour the sails a lowered for a peaceful and slow sail back down the harbour; passing lovely coves, the Opera House and finishing back at the Harbour Bridge. The crew served light refreshments however not all dietary requirements were catered to despite people ordering them beforehand. Alcohol is also served on board. You can climb the mast for a fee for an even better view of the harbour. No cheezy pics are taken as you get on board and then tried to be sold when you get back which was a nice change fro some attractions. The time on board is pretty much at your leisure and we could wander about, explore, and ask the crew questions. Perhaps not suited to young children or people with walkers or wheel chairs. "
“A great fun and exhilarating sea experience in beautiful Sydney Harbour.”
"Last week I was treated to a 2 hour voyage with drinks and buffet on The Southern Swan, Sydney Harbour. The ship is a 3 masted schooner about 90 years old. We embarked at 5.30pm and were given a brief history of the ship. We were offered plates of many kinds of buffet food and selection of wine beer or soft drinks. Passengers were given the chance to take the helm for a while, or climb the rigging of the mizzen mast wearing safety harness, for an extra charge. My family and I were certainly up for that! We sailed round the main, open part of the harbour, past the opera house and under the iconic bridge, with ME steering! The sunset was stunning and the ambiance superb. The skipper and crew were very friendly. Everyone was happy and there was a real party atmosphere. An extra half an hour would have been even better. All in all it was a lovely trip which I would thoroughly recommend."
“Absolutely loved the wine & canape cruise around Sydney harbour!”
"Was a great trip with a nice small crowd, live music and good food and wine. The weather was sensational. Would love to go back and do it again one day. Highly recommend!"
"Beautiful ship. Excellent service. Lovely views. Interesting facts. Fantastic Captain and crew. So accomadating to us by providing a great vegan meal. Relaxing trip back in time. Highly recommended. :)"
“Nice way to see Sydney on the water”
"The Tall ship experience is definitely better than the usual commercial cruises packed on a modern cruise ship. The crew is nice and friendly and the value for money was reasonable for 1 hour and 15 minutes but the cruise was too short and we only saw one side of the bridge, a bit disappointing but still good value and I would recommend it- only a longer cruise! "
“Totally Enjoyable Way to See Sydney Harbour”
"The time went too fast. Much more laid back and informal than some of the other cruises around the harbour. Staff were informative and friendly. Drinks Package is also included. The finger food was more practical than trying to balance a plate of food and was certainly plentiful. We had a great time."
“...highlight of my holiday...”
"We booked the twilight cruise with dinner and drinks package....met friends and took our teenage son. A wonderful experience, perfect weather, beautiful food and wine. Climbed the mast and enjoyed the sea air and the live acoustic music. Bought the tickets on Groupon and were delighted with this trip and value for money. It was perfect....many thanks guys....x"
“Exceptional crew & special memories”
"We recently celebrated a birthday by taking an evening cruise with these guys. Brendan & Captain James were so helpful, happy to oblige and the 'other' James on guitar set the night off perfectly. The drinks just kept on coming and it felt like Brendan was in 20 places at once - even popping up to fix the light in the head for me at a critical moment! There were numerous other folk in blue t-shirts sailing the stately ship but they were ninja like in the way they stealthily worked around the happy revellers - but you could also help them with the sails if you wanted to. Thanks all!"
“Convicts Castles and Champagne Cruise”
"What an amazing tour ! It was relaxing ,informative and fun and a real insight into Australian life as it was in the early days of convicts and castles, The weather was perfect and our tour started with free champagne and beer (always a good start ) and a cruise under the Harbour Bridge. On Goat Island we enjoyed a beautiful lunch of fresh ham, prawns and salads .Then our guide Brendan brought the whole Island to life as he took us back in history to a past long forgotten. We walked around the Island, through sandstone buildings down to the armoury as Brendan related stories of the convicts and how they lived and were treated. Brendan had a wealth of knowledge and through him history came alive as he weaved the stories of a world so different to the way the harbour is today..After our tour it was back to the ship with more Champagne ,and a harbour tour past the castles of today, a far cry form the world and the people of the 1800's. For visitors to Sydney this is a must do. The Tall Ship Company is passionate about telling it as it was and keeping our unique history alive. This is a rare chance to see things many Sydneysiders will never see and to feel a part of Australia's history. I purchased my ticket through Groupon and have no links to Tall ships, I am Australian and love history and this tour told it as it was.! For those interested I have made a 2 minute u tube clip about our day and will upload to u tube tomorrow so check out "convicts castles and champagne" on u tube , But don't miss experiencing it for yourself . Well worth the money.I give it 10/10"
“Relaxing, entertaining and fun with a lovely crew”
"We went on the dinner cruise and had a great time. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this to anyone."
“What a way to see Sydney Harbour”
"My Sister and Brother -in-Law took me on a tall Ship cruise yesterday. (Thanks guys for the lovely present) It was such a great trip; we went at lunch time. Plenty of food, most generous! Crew were very helpful. Really enjoyable afternoon."
“A lovely experience . . .”
"Got a present of a cruise for 2 and decided on the twilight cruise, great decision! The boat itself felt/looked very authentic and the sights were amazing as the sun went down. The staff brought around food for everyone (eat in your hand style) and it was very nice. From the drinks package with champagne/wine/beers aplenty to the Jack Johnson 'esque mood music and comfy atmosphere, I highly recommend this trip and will do it again when we have visitors from overseas. Thanks to Frankie & all the lovely staff for a very enjoyable evening cruise."
“Magic starlit night for two teenage boys on the Harbour”
"My two boys 12 and 14 loved the two hour cruise tonight, climbing the mast and learning all about the vessel. Thanks to Frankie and Claire and all the crew for the trouble they took."
“Amazing Tallship Cruise”
"What a wonderful experience. The crew were so confident in all they were doing and my family and I had the best time enjoying the harbour on the beautiful Tallship. 2 of my children and I climbed the mast and had a great view of the Opera House and the Bridge from the Birds Nest. Just incredible. You have to do this cruise and I'm sure you will have a great time exploring the Ship and Sydney Harbour. Thanks to Frankie & all the lovely staff. I will never forget this."
“Excellent Lunch and Dinner cruise experiences”
"I've had two recent experiences of cruising on Sydney harbour with Sydney Harbour Tall Ships. Both the lunch and evening cruises where great. Weather was fabulous and the sunset in the evening spectacular as we sailed back towards the Harbour Bridge. The food was finger food style but fresh (mostly cooked on board) and tasty. Drinks were included. Staff were very friendly - mostly young overseas travellers. There are no actual seats on board as it's an authentic tall ship but there was plenty of benches and space to spread out. Recommend sitting right up the back beside the captain and having a go at steering the boat. My teenagers also had a go at the mast climb to the crows nest - the highlight for them."
“A very relaxing night”
"My wife and I had a most relaxing night. The crew were very professional and extremely friendly and helpful. The crew, food, best harbour in the world together with perfect weather (including a full moon) made the twilight cuise a night that we will never forget. Must do this again with a big group of friends."
“Such a great time aboard Southern Swan”
"What an incredible way to spend an afternoon...it does not get any better!....Sydney Harbour in all it's glory with magnificent weather, aboard the Southern Swan Tall Ship as she sailed to Shark Island and back to Campbell's Cove. Boarding was exciting with a quite remarkable crew and captain offering the total experience, visitors free to explore the whole ship and mast climb if wished.... We were most impressed with the team work so apparent to work this magnificent vessel...lunch and drinks offered were delicious and staff so friendly and generous with their knowledge and attention. Loved every minute of the two hour cruise and we thank you Sydney Tall Ships for affording us this wonderful privilege and opportunity to sail with you...definitely want more...we'll be back! Absolutely fantastic...much appreciated Southern Swan, Captain James and all crew! Thank you....highly recommended for a great time ."
“Fabulous way of viewing Sydney”
"The cruise on the Soren was a great way of viewing the city form a different perspective. The crew were friendly, and provided some light entertainment. Finger food dinner was ok - other guests indicated they didn't receive much food. Overall good experience."
"We had a great family day out on the Sydney HArbour Tall Ships.. kids really loved climbing the mast...staff were very friendly and informative."
“Sydney Tall Ship”
"We had a large group of us go on this ship for a friends birthday. We had the best afternoon, could not think of a better way to spend a beautiful sunny day on Sydney Harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, drinks were flowing and the finger food kept coming around. All in all it was a great experience, and we could have stayed on for another couple of hours. Many thanks for making our friends birthday so much fun."
“This is a *must* do, even for Sydney locals.”
"The trip is a must do for anyone visiting Sydney or for locals wanting a special day out. This trip we took some family visiting from Denmark and being on a boat that was originally Danish made the evening all the better. The food was a little 'tourist kitch' with the usual meat pies and a taster of kangaroo and crocodile. IMO most people don't like eating kangaroo and I'd rather have had something more interesting."
“you can't beat the harbor views.”
"I completely recommend this but you need to forget about the food that is on the website, unless they have updated it.... We did not go for the food, we went for the experience of being on a tall ship, sailing, and being in the harbor. The crew members were very fun and made the evening very special. My daughter climbed the mast and the photos that they took (I bought the cd from them) were AMAZING and well worth the money. I would do it again."
“Beautiful day on Sydney Harbour”
"My husband received this voucher for the two of us for his 50th Birthday. We decided to use it Mother's Day and what a wonderful day it was. Our cruise included a drinks package (champagne, wine, beer and soft drink) and the food which was amazing never stopped coming from the minute we left to the time we docked. Our harbour is the best in the world and being on the tall ship made it even more special. We both highly recommend this experience. We had a wonderful time. Thank you Sydney Harbour Tall Ships for a great day."
"We bought a voucher that included drinks and food at a bargain price so we would have been happy with just the beautiful views and didn't expect that much more. But not only were the views magnificent and the sailing smooth, the finger food was plentiful, tasty and easy to eat, the bar service was excellent, the ship itself was quaint and cosy and the crew were outstanding - friendly, accommodating and professional. We were fortunate to sail on a quiet night so Captain James gave us a personal insight into the local history and the operation of the ship. I even had some hands on involvement and may have just caught the sailing bug! I couldn't have been more impressed with Captain James and his team, particularly as we were the last voyage of the day and I expect the crew would have all been tired by then. Well done on providing a charming service that wasn't at all tacky. I would have happily paid full price for such a memorable experience. Highly recommended! "
"This was a fun activity. It started out pretty sour when their website screwed up our reservation and they weren't planning on letting us on. After a fit on my part, they did let us on board. Once on board, we relaxed, enjoyed the view and marveled at the view. We did enjoy the America's Cup sail more but if you're looking for less adventure, this is the way to go. I will say, if you go on this, you really should do the mast climb (and buy the pictures). It was a great experience. Just don't wear flip flops. We had to climb up bare foot which hurt SOOOO bad. The food was surprisingly good, there was (expensive) bar service and the entertainment was just the right style and volume. The ship is beautiful and reasonably well maintained (7/10). "
“The best way to see the Harbour”
"I am a Tall Ship fanatic so I may be biased! This was a lovely fun experience of a genuine old ship. I was able to help with the ropes. Lunch was great, all my favourite nibbles and plenty of them, a very nice wine and great crew who all helped the party go with a swing."
“A lovely afternoon under sail on Sydney Harbour”
"Lunch cruise on the well maintained and clean Soren Larsen was extremely enjoyable in the autumn sunshine. An informative, friendly hostess Frankie, helpful, efficient and well drilled crew and the smiling Henry who served an array of plentiful, tasty finger food all added to this afternoon. We motored to Vaucluse and then sailed down the Harbour to the Bridge. Exhilarating! I would recommend this cruise to anyone and will make a return visit with friends."
“Great way to enjoy Sydney Harbour”
"Very pleasant way to see Sydney Harbour. Sailing under the Harbour Bridge and around the Opera House is a fantastic way to see the sights. The tall ship offers limited seating so bear that in mind. It also offers the option for drinks package and serves a few snacks. The staff could offer more commentary on the sights. You can even climb the mast for an additional price. Great way to spend a nice afternoon on the water."
“Fabulous night cruise”
"We had our fifth cruise with Sydney Tall Ships on 26 May to view the "Vivid" lights show on Sydney buildings. The weather was good, the cruise was great, the food was superb and the crew were just terrific. Both my wife and I, and our two friends who came along, thoroughly enjoyed the evening. "
“Wonderful Way to spend an afternoon”
"Excellent way to see Sydney harbour. Our fourth cruise and the mother in laws first. Fantastic views, incredible staff, food and drinks a plenty, Very informative commentary. A cushion for the front deck might be helpful. Make sure you bring your camera - amazing photo opportunities.."
“Great views of Sydney Harbour from a Tall Ship!”
"This magnificent ship gave us great views of Sydney Harbour, as well as some history of the area and the islands within the harbour. It takes several hours, and they feed you a very tasty lunch (and even accommodate vegetarians like me if you let them know in advance). The Mast Climb is a must, and makes the whole experience even more memorable. Climbing the mast is safe, because you are attached in two places to a safety mechanism, and it's really more of a rope net that you climb, rather than the mast itself. When you get to the top, you are rewarded by a beautiful view of the harbour and can stay on top as long as you like. It's mildly strenuous, and is OK even for those who are mildly afraid of heights. Overall, a great way to really take in Sydney Harbour! "
“An amazing experience”
"My wife and I went on a lunch time cruise and had an amazing experience. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I've been on harbor cruises before but this one topped them all. A must!!!!!!"
“This is a MUST when you are in Sydney”
"WOW this was fantastic My husband and I went out last night and had a lovely cruise despite the rain. A beautiful ship on a beautiful harbour. Thank you Captain Marty and your crew. You made us feeling very welcome."
“Sydney Harbour Tall Ships- A Great Experience!”
"What a wonderful craft, efficient, friendly staff, great drinks package & great solo artist made this experience memorable. Would recommend to anyone, local or tourist! "
“Tall ships - Vivid Festival”
"My wife and I sailed on the 5.45pm cruise aboard the Southern Swan last Friday evening. I am writing to thank your crew and boarding staff for their exceptional customer service. My wife asked on booking in, if there were many seats on board as I have foot problems as a result of Diabetes and cannot stand for extended periods. A little latter the young man from the booking desk came over to where we were sitting and said he would arrange for us to board first, to ensure a seat. We were shown over to the wharf. While standing awaiting the ships docking, another female booking officer approached us to see if I was OK standing. When it was time to board one of the female crew assisted me down the wharf stairs by allowing me to rest my weight on her shoulder. Other staff helped me down the gangplank. When the cruise was over, the female crew member who had helped me down the stairs, approached us as she was concerned I might slip on the deck. She lead me along to the gangplank by walking backwards, so she could see in case I slipped. Other crew members assisted me up the gangplank. The young lady asked if I wanted to use her shoulder for assistance to get up the stairs, but as this was easier than coming down, it wasn’t necessary. The assistance of booking staff and crew greatly contruted to my enjoyment of the cruise."
“Great night at vivid”
"Had a great night cruising around Sydney watching the vivid lights on the Opera House and the bridge. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves."
“Lovely vivid lights harbour cruise”
"We took a vivid lights cruise which was fantastic - the ship is beautiful and the captain timed arriving in Darling Harbour for the fireworks perfectly. Canapés and drinks were included, live music from a great guitar player who took requests and there was an option to climb the mast. All the crew were happy to chat and came from all around the world. You could even go below to have a look at their quarters. I'd highly recommend this company having done several cruises around the harbour."
“Sydney tall ships”
"We had a fantastic night aboard the tall ship watching the vivid light festival .great food -wine- entertainment & fabulous hostess Frankie ready to answer all our questions .what a great way to see all the sites around Sydney on our beautiful harbour .This beautiful boat is differently worth the visit . I was recommend by my mother & her friends & now I recommend that you all have a cruise you won't regret it . Can't wait to try another trip regards Nicole watts."
“A beautiful way to see Sydney Harbour at its best!”
"Our weekend away in Sydney, which is an annual event for the girls was topped this year by our great night out on the tall ships! Welcomed warmly by the lovely , Frankie, started a lovely, friendly and picturesque couple of hours on this majestic vessel of the sea. Service was excellent, food and champagne plentiful and company great! And the view, wow! Could not have asked for a better night out, unbelievable value for money, thoroughly recommend this great way to see our Harbour!!!!!!"
“Vivid lights - Tall Ships cruise”
"A couple of weeks ago my friend and I boarded the Southern Swan with trepidation knowing the rain that night might dampen our experience on the cruise. As it turned out, the weather made for an eventful night. The crew were friendly, the music was live and great to listen to, and food was apt with drinks package. The MC for the night (Brendan) was quite informative and had good knowledge of the harbour history, plus very hospitable. An overall fantastic experience in the backdrop of Sydney Vivid lights. "
“sydney tall ships”

“Great afternoon out!”
"Got discount vouchers so was around $60 each including drinks package. We looked online and knew it wasn't a full lunch and were happy with the nibbles provided. Plenty and good. Drinks were open bar and we made the most of it. Great sites photos weather and company. Would recommend to others."
“Sydney Harbour Tall Ships”
"We had a wonderful time on a beautifully restored ship. The staff were all very pleasant and the food plentiful. Thanks for a great experience."
“Amazing day on the water”
"As locals, you don't often do sightseeing of where you live. But we went with some Canadian friends for a surprise party on the 'Soren Larsen', and it was an amazing day! The kids and adventurous ones in our group did the mast climb, with great assistance from the staff on board. The food was great, the service was spectacular and the view of Sydney Harbour can't be beaten."
