26 Nov 2018 Expected to be a Busy Year for Weddings Around Sydney
On November 15th 2017, Australians voted overwhelmingly in support of legislation to allow same-sex couples to marry. If you’re statistically-minded you’ll be interested to know that out of 16 million eligible voters, 12.7 million people voted (79.5%) and of those, 61.6% voted “Yes”. The Australian Parliament is now expected to pass a same-sex marriage law by the end of the year.
Businesses around Australia, from florists to wedding car hire to wedding venue operators, are expecting 2018 to be a busy year catering to hundreds of couples from the LGBTIQ community as they exercise their new right to same-sex marriage.
Here at Sydney Tall Ships we are going out of way to embrace the new marriage freedom available to gay Australians. Our timber sailing ships have always been popular as Sydney wedding venues. Their unique character and natural beauty appeal to those wanting a Sydney Harbour wedding with a difference. And with incredible opportunities for a unique ceremony and photographs, our tall ships are expected be very popular with same-sex couples too.
Fancy a photo at the top of a tall-ship’s mast in front of the Sydney Opera House? We can make that happen!
How about a ceremony on historic Goat Island? We can transport your wedding party and guests to and from the island and host the function afterwards.
